What You’ll Do
As a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll report to the Pharmacist or Manager. You will deliver expert pharmacy services across assigned areas, actively promote pharmaceutical care, engage in clinically focused activities, and fulfill all core responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician with precision and professionalism. The position collaborates with other professional, clinical and ancillary staff in providing compassionate and quality care to patients.
Pharmacy Technician Job Responsibilities
Prepare and dispense medications by packaging, compounding, and selecting drugs based on prescriptions and system-generated information.
Maintain inventory by restocking supplies, checking for expired products, and replenishing kits and carts.
Process patient charges and credits using pharmacy systems and documentation.
Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets and medication carts.
Support pharmacists by collecting and entering data, answering calls, and assisting with pharmaceutical care tasks.
Contribute to departmental effectiveness through inspections, quality monitoring, documentation, and other assigned duties.
What You Bring
You bring a high level of knowledge and competency in performing pharmacy procedures, assessments, treatment, and techniques. As a pharmacy technician, your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. You demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians and others. You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner. As a pharmacy technician, you have an understanding of the need to be responsive and reasonably adaptable for scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED
Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program
Pharmacy Technician certification in the state of Michigan
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification in the state of Michigan required within one year of employment
Minimum one year of Pharmacy Technician experience
