Job DESCRIPTION :
The Maintenance Supervisor will lead all aspects of the plant maintenance department. The maintenance supervisor will help aid and improve the operational performance of the plant through evaluation and improvement of current preventative and predictive maintenance programs;
development of maintenance and production team members; and working with others to make continuous improvement throughout the plant.
Job RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage the maintenance staff on three shifts through delegation, policy and procedure administration, assignment of work responsibilities, planning organizing, directing and follow-up of the work assigned.
- Provide daily oversight of the maintenance team to facilitate the reduction of downtime.
- Support installation of newly installed equipment. Responsible for setting up PM programs of newly installed equipment.
- Ensure department remains fully staffed with highly competent employees who are cross trained and continuously developed for long term retention and growth.
- Accountable for providing day-to-day support and long-term solutions to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
- Ensure consistent, reliable production output through improvement of current Preventative and Predictive Maintenance schedule for all applicable equipment.
Document and track PM program to ensure it is followed appropriately. Work with continuous improvement manager to determine effectiveness of the preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Accountable for day-to-day scheduled safety inspections and to ensure that the maintenance staff performs safely.
- Assure that necessary checks and testing are performed & recorded pursuant to requirements set forth by the company insurance carrier.
- Participate in CAPA (Correcting and Preventative Actions) process. Work with continuous improvement manager to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reduce or eliminate reoccurring programs related to abnormal equipment condition or failure.
- Assist with continuous improvement and process improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with department ISO requirements
- Work with continuous improvement and production managers to implement Clean-Inspect-Lube (CIL) program for production equipment as part of the company’s autonomous maintenance program.
- Manage department schedules including timecard validations, vacation schedules, off hour project work, etc. while being mindful of controlling department expenses.

Knowledge, SKILLS, AND ABILITiES :
- In-depth knowledge of industrial plant maintenance programs
- Strong equipment troubleshooting skills
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- People leadership and good written and oral skills
- Experience leading TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is a plus
- Trained in Root Cause Analysis is a plus
EDUCATION :
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (or other technical discipline), required
EXPERIENCE :
- Minimum 3-5 years in industrial maintenance management experience, required
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
Physical Requirements :
- Extended periods of standing.
- Frequently moves items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Climbs stairs multiple times per day.
