About Montgomery Bell Academy
Montgomery Bell Academy is the oldest independent school for boys in Tennessee. MBA opened its doors on September 9, 1867, with 26 boys in two rooms.
The student body was divided into a grammar school and a high school. MBA has experienced tremendous growth in the 156 years since its founding.
The school is now home to 850 students in grades 7-12, 160 faculty and staff, facilities in three Middle Tennessee locations (, , and 10+ acre campus in the Nashville neighborhood, ) and exchange programs that span the globe.
The Role of Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications
Montgomery Bell Academy (MBA) seeks a talented, collegial, and multi-faceted leader to serve as its next Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications.
The Director must be able to think strategically at the highest level, bring a proactive and nuanced approach to marketing and communications, and shift seamlessly and effectively among a variety of different roles.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director will serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to Head of School, William Daughtrey, and will be responsible for the development and implementation of a marketing communications strategy, and a broad and diverse range of community, media, public relations, and crisis communications.
The successful candidate will be able to develop and implement strategic priorities while partnering across campus at the ground level with colleagues.
The Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications leads all aspects of internal and external communications to develop and sustain an integrated and effective marketing and communications plan.
The successful candidate is responsible for the stories that Montgomery Bell Academy tells about its mission, values, and priorities and the ways that they manifest in the student experience.
Reporting to the Head of School, William Daughtrey, and serving as a member of the Leadership Team, this individual will be a forward-thinking communicator able to leverage opportunities as they present while also effectively anticipating and navigating challenges.
