Our manufacturing client is seeking a talented and experienced Quality Engineer to join their team in Spring Lake, MI. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional with a strong background in quality engineering within the automotive industry.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing product quality, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Responsibilities :
- Perform gauge R&R and programming on various measurement equipment to ensure accurate data collection.
- Develop programming and validation studies for new and existing products, optimizing measurement processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Design and implement gages and fixtures for measurement equipment, ensuring precise and repeatable measurements.
- Participate in process development for new products and contribute to PFMEA to identify and address potential failure modes.
- Develop control plans based on print requirements and PFMEA outcomes, establishing clear guidelines for quality control.
- Support PPAP documentation for new part launches and engineering changes, collaborating with customers to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Train production personnel on work instructions and provide ongoing support to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Address quality issues proactively, conducting root cause analysis using tools like 5Y, 8D, and fishbone diagrams.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal teams globally to facilitate communication and collaboration on process and quality-related matters.
- Maintain effective working relationships and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in quality and processes.
- Adhere to quality and environmental system requirements and customer quality requirements.
Job Requirements
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
- 5-7 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Experience with customer rejections, PPAP, control plans, PFMEA, and process flow.
- Knowledge of CMM systems and precision measurement.
- Strong statistical analysis skills and experience with data analysis tools such as Minitab.
- Advanced GD&T knowledge and experience in programming measurement equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in computer skills within a Windows environment.
Preferred Experience :
- Experience with stamping and spring-related products.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards and requirements.
- Background in statistical analysis, Six Sigma, and industrial processes.
