Job Summary :
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The Associate Attorney will support the firm’s partners by managing cases, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and representing clients in legal proceedings.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality legal services.
The position is based at our headquarters in Wall Twp, NJ. The candidate will be required to travel to our various locations in NJ and NY.
Key Responsibilities :
- Case Management : Assist in managing a caseload of client matters from inception to resolution under the supervision of senior attorneys.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date client files. Including, but is not limited to, drafting wills / trusts / estate planning;
and assisting in handling all facets of a real estate transaction, including attending closings.
Legal Research and Writing : Conduct thorough legal research on various issues, including case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.
Prepare legal memoranda, briefs, motions, and other documents as needed.
- Client Representation : Represent clients in court, mediation, depositions, and administrative hearings. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional and timely manner.
- Drafting and Reviewing Documents : Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other case-related materials.
- Client Communication : Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress, answering questions, and managing client expectations.
Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
- Negotiation and Settlement : Assist in negotiating settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, working to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Court Filings : Prepare and file legal documents with courts and administrative agencies, ensuring all deadlines are met and filings comply with court rules.
- Discovery Management : Assist in all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, managing document production, and preparing for depositions.
- Legal Strategy Development : Work with senior attorneys to develop case strategies, identify legal issues, and provide recommendations for advancing client objectives.
- Team Collaboration : Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- NJ Attorney License (Required), Admission in NY, FL or PA a plus.
- Active membership in the State Bar and in good standing.
- 1-3 years of relevant legal experience preferred (experience level may vary based on firm requirements and practice area).
