Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the CTE Welding subject area to help them fulfill their potential for growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications
Education / Certification :
- Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or high school diploma / GED and equivalent wage-earning experience as required by certification
- Valid Texas career and technical education certificate with required license, endorsements, and training for subject and level assigned
- Any agriculture certificate
- Any Technology Education, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Arts certificate
- Trade and Industrial Education – Grades 8-12 with appropriate work approval (http : / / www.tea.state.tx.us / index2.aspx?id=5319)
- Vocational Trades and Industry with appropriate work approval
- AWS Certification preferred
- Demonstrated competency in the career and technical education subject area assigned
Special Knowledge / Skills :

Probationary / Term Contract : 193 days
Salary : Pay Grade T60 (Teacher Classification) as approved by the Board of Trustees

Attendance : Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job functionInstructional Strategies : Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum; accommodate differences among studentsInstructional Planning : Use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology; reflect TEA guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulationsAssessment : Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan activitiesIEP Collaboration : Work with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with IEPsCollaboration : Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methodsStudent Growth and Development : Conduct ongoing assessment; may sponsor approved extracurricular activities; model a positive role for studentsOther
