MECHANIC - Aircraft Accessory Component (Electrical - Wire Harness) Summary : Mechanics perform repair, overhaul and / or modification to electro-hydraulic actuators and / or assembly, test and inspection of Aircraft Accessory Component (Hydraulic / Electrical) production components to include but not limited to HVDC Rack & Panel and / or modification to electro-hydraulic actuators of varying complexity on aerospace components and assemblies according to FAA standards, original equipment manufacturers and customers’ requirements.

Technicians must be capable of reading and interpreting assembly instruction sheets, engineering orders, engineering drawings and specifications as needed to assess conformance to requirement.

Technicians must be capable of performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to : Geometric inspection (caliper, micrometer), electrical crimping, and sealant application, electrical testing along with knowledge of associated electrical test equipment and their application to product assembly This is a "Safety Sensitive", function and as such is subject to random drug testing.

Assemble, service, repair and test aircraft accessory components to ensure airworthiness. Works under

minimal supervision Responsibility #1 : General Repair and Maintenance Duties

Has intermediate knowledge of assembly and test operations as related to HVDC R&P assembly operations and related components.

Utilize OEM technical data and Engineering drawings to assemble and test components as required to include but not limited to :

Perform pre-assembly activities such as cleaning and lubricating parts as per established cleaning procedures.

Perform equipment assembly according to assembly instruction sheets, engineering orders and / or engineering drawings. Consisting of electrical wiring, routing, terminal installation, splicing, connector terminations, proper nut and bolt installation, orientation and torquing.

Conduct product testing and performance testing and record the results according to acceptance test procedures.

Perform final checks and adjustments for any defects to ensure high quality products.

Ensure assembly records are maintained according to standard operating procedures. These tasks may also include repair, modify, replace or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance on HVDC R&P assembly operations and related components to include but not limited to : Disassemble, inspect and reassemble electrical aircraft accessory components

Test aircraft electrical accessory components

Troubleshoot electrical aircraft accessory components

Perform installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required per applicable approved technical data.

Ensure maintenance records are maintained according to standard operating procedures.

Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.

Complete job assignments in a timely manner.

Complete on-the-job-training (OJT) forms and required reading and periodic refresher training.

Read and interpret manufacturer assembly instruction sheets, acceptance test procedures and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement or modification.

Conduct operational tests. Responsibility #2 : General Shop Duties

Help with general clean-up of work area.

Responsible for accurately clocking into jobs.

Regular and prompt attendance.

Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers Responsibility #3 : Safety Responsibility

Observe all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that you are provided with full information on your area specific safety issues, all unique hazards are identified, and you are provided with the proper equipment to carry out your job in a safe manner.

Maintain the work area to a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards.

Report all accidents must be promptly reported to Production Supervisor or Manager.

Monitor the functioning of all equipment and report any problems or substandard condition to the supervisor. Skills and Knowledge :

Must have knowledge of fundamental maintenance operations and practices and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical functions.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Proficiency in relevant specialty of aircraft.

Ability to communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels regarding job related issues in the English language.

Show a continued aptitude for new assigned work. Required Experience :

Airframe and / or Power plant License and level of skill customarily acquired after two years as a General Mechanic, or

Three years of related industrial / commercial or military maintenance experience, or

Two years of experience as apprentice mechanic working at NTA on commercial accessory components,

Equivalent combination of education and experience Note : Aircraft maintenance experience is preferred but not required! Required Education :

High School education or equivalent
