Arrowhead Talent Solutions is helping a manufacturing company fill an opening for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager in the Louisville, KY area.
This hands-on position will coordinate and manage the activities of facilities to meet and / or exceed federal, state, and local health, safety and environmental regulations / specifications while assisting with projects and tasks related to sustainability efforts.
Responsibilities :
Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
Primary goal is to protect employees, customers, and the environment.
- Identify potential safety hazards and recommend / implement corrective actions.
- Educate employees on how to prevent health and safety problems through safety training.
- Investigate accidents and near misses to identify root causes and potential improvements.
- Participate in new material reviews as a member of the material review board to approve or reject use of materials.
- Support sustainability related projects and drive improvements through best practices and compliance related testing and documentation.
- Assure proper personal protection equipment is specified and used properly.
- Issue, maintain, and / or revise Job Safety Analysis documents.
- Oversee permitting related to environmental compliance, sustainability efforts and building / machinery improvements.
- Review, maintain, and / or revise required MSDS / SDS files (using outside consultants as required).
- Chair safety committee meetings and drive an agenda that aligns with the company’s core values.
- Responsible for facility environmental reporting in connection with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Will assist with sustainability initiatives including continuous improvement projects, compliance reporting, documentation, audits, and other activities.
Tasks :
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Provide new employees with health and safety orientations; develop materials for these presentations.
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
- Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment and first aid supplies.
- Collaborate with others to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
- Coordinate CPR and related first-responder training.
- Coordinate and lead all OSHA required training and audits.
- Partner with HR and Operations to report any work-related injuries / illnesses in a timely manner.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years’ industrial health, safety, and environmental management experience.
