Medical Assistant Float

GENERAL SUMMARY :

Under general supervision of clinic supervisor, and following established procedures and precedents, prepares patients for physical examination, obtains specimens, conducts select routine laboratory tests, administers vaccines and records results, performs phlebotomy and routine diagnostic tests.

Under delegated supervision of a physician, performs clinical and administrative tasks.

Hours : Flexibility is needed to work variable hours Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm with a Saturday rotation. Offices are open 1 / 2 days on Saturdays until approximately 1-2pm.

Offices are closed on the 6 major holidays. Flexibility required with an understanding physician schedules can run behind.

Office : Elmhurst Service Area includes - Addison, Elmhurst, Lombard, and Oak Park

Float : Additional $2.00 hour differential and mileage reimbursement

Newly hired Medical Assistants, Certified Medical Assistants and Registered Medical Assistants will receive a $1000 bonus (grossed up).

The first $500 will be paid at your 6 month mark of employment and the remaining $500 will be paid at the end of one year.

This bonus does not apply to internal employees transferring within departments.

Position Requirements include :

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified, Registered, and Clinical Certified Medical Assistants (CMA , RMA or CCMA) are required to provide current certification or registration through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Health career Association (NHA) or any other certifying agency and should have at least 6 months of clinical experience.
• Candidates who are not certified or registered should have at least one year of clinical experience.
• Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Flexible to scheduling changes.
• Prior work experience in Internal & Family Medicine preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested .
