Summary :
- The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs examinations, on pre-mature neo-natal, neo-natal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients;
- administers radioactive material to patients for diagnostic exams and therapies; utilizes effective radiation safety practices;
maintains record keeping in accordance with governing agencies; works closely with other staff to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities :
Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of provider;
explains the procedures to the patient, answers the patient's questions, and obtains the patient's consent; injects (doses) patients with radioactive material.
Places radiopharmaceutical orders after reviewing provider's orders; obtains and documents pertinent to patient history;
calculates, measures and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received.
Determines the correct procedure for the study ordered; maintains the required records for dosing, decaying and disposing of radioactive material.
Performs required quality control on all cameras and dose measuring equipment.
