St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking an Art Teacher.

Community; Service & Social Justice; Scholarship; and Holistic Education. The Art Teacher reports to the School Principal.
St. Anthony Catholic High School prepares young men and women for positions of responsibility and leadership through a college preparatory curriculum based on Catholic values and traditions.
Essential Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the curriculum.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies and administrative regulations.
- Work cooperatively with administrators, department chairs, and other staff as needed to meet curriculum objectives.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Serve as an advisor to 15-17 students.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and Student handbook.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Assist in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
- Establish and maintain open communication through conferences with parents, students, principal and teachers.
- Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Attend after school faculty meetings, evening parent meetings, monthly community liturgies, class retreats and open houses as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced understanding of key principles of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Ability to plan and deliver detailed and well thought out lessons with an understanding of learners' needs, utilizing an extensive range of teaching techniques.
- Ability to create assessments that accurately measure students' learning.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in art or related field.
Required Work Experience
Experience working with students at the high school level.
Preferred Qualifications
- AP Certification.
- Texas Teacher Certification.
- Secondary school teaching experience.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
The Archdiocese of San Antonio requires non-certified teachers to have 12 hours of
education.
