About The Position
Job Title : Seasonal Physical Therapist Job Specialty : Rehabilitation Services Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day - 5x8 - 08 : 00AM - 04 : 00PM Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum of one year of full-time acute care specific experience or two years of skilled nursing / inpatient rehab facility experience.
License : Valid permanent license as a physical therapist from the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy. Certifications : Proof of 2 hours of CVA specific continuing education obtained within the recent 4 months.
Must-Have : Acute clinical therapy experience. Job Description : - Implement physician's orders for physical therapy services.
- Provide necessary aspects of physical therapy in an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate patient independence. - Utilize growth and development knowledge base in care of pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
- Demonstrate ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and identify age-specific requirements. - Perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests / measures.
- Construct short-term, long-term, and family goals based on social factors, medical stability, and other relevant conditions.
- Document accurately in the Electronic Medical Record. - Use critical thinking skills in patient evaluation and treatment planning.
- Understand and apply physical agent modalities, such as moist heat, as applicable. - Utilize age-specific patient care indicators per plan of care.
- Demonstrate understanding of musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems as related to age-specific care. - Identify learning needs of patients or family members effectively.
- Collaborate as a team member to support patient and family throughout therapy care system. - Perform additional job duties as assigned.
Job Requirements : - Must interpret and follow physician's orders, cooperate with coworkers and superiors, be responsive to patient needs, and demonstrate initiative in treatment.
- Must be physically able to perform constant walking, balancing, standing, lifting, and handling up to 50 pounds. - Use visual and hearing acuity for paperwork, equipment monitoring, and communication.
- Operate assistive devices such as blood pressure machines, pulse oximetry, wheelchairs, and walkers. Language Requirement : - English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
