Job Overview - Psychiatrist :
Join our client in Trenton, NJ, as a Corrections Psychiatrist, where you will provide psychotherapy, diagnostic, and therapeutic services within a correctional facility.
As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care for inmate patients.
Compensation : $170 - $200 / hour
Location : Trenton, NJ
Responsibilities as the Psychiatrist :
- Psychiatric Care : Conduct assessments, evaluations, and treatment for inmate patients, including prescribing medications and managing care.
- Collaboration : Work closely with mental health and medical staff to develop and review patient treatment plans.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care in accordance with standards and regulations.
- Leadership : Provide direction for psychiatric care delivery, contribute to program development, and supervise Advanced Practice Nurses.
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to security regulations and ethical standards within the facility. Qualifications for the Psychiatrist :
- Education : MD or DO degree, with completed residency in mental health.
- Licensure : Current, unrestricted license to practice psychiatry in NJ (Forensic Evaluator designation preferred).
- Certifications : Valid prescriptive authority (DEA and CDS) and current CPR certification.
- Experience : Experience in mental health delivery systems, preferably in a correctional environment.
- Skills : Strong critical thinking, assessment, and interpersonal communication skills; proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
