About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $2661 To $2956 Job Title : Cath Lab / Special Procedures Tech Job Specialty : Cardiac Cath Lab Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 9-hour days Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year as a Cath Lab Tech License : Registered with ARRT and licensed by the relevant state agency Certifications : CPR certified Must-Have : BLS - American Heart certification- Willingness to obtain necessary state certification if not already certified- Understanding of drug-free campus policies with a requirement to produce a negative drug screen for all panels Job Description : Perform cine, digital subtraction angiography, and other specialized radiologic procedures under sterile technique to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Prepare examination areas, position patients for procedures, and operate complex radiology equipment according to established techniques and routines.
- Function as a scrub tech, including arranging sterile setups and passing instruments and equipment to the physician.- Prepare patients for procedures, explain the processes to them, review patient charts, complete necessary paperwork, and maintain patient records.
- Operate complex radiology equipment and calculate proper technical factors for radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Transfer images to the cardiac picture archival system and ensure accurate storage.- Ensure all equipment is in proper working order, performing minor repairs or notifying appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Observe and monitor patient's cardiovascular and pulmonary systems during procedures, recognize abnormalities, and alert physician to changes.
- Attend mandatory department and Medical Center meetings, along with educational programs to support continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with personnel and agencies, assist in preparing the room between patients, and complete monthly on-call requirements.
- Successfully complete the special procedure technologist competency. All applicants must understand and comply with any mandatory health and safety guidelines.
