Senior Manager of Operations (site)

Position Overview :
Are you ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, innovative environment? We are seeking a Senior Manager of Operations to oversee and drive manufacturing, distribution, and facilities management at our South Florida site.
This is a critical role in transforming the site’s culture and preparing for future growth, with the potential to step into a full site leadership role within 12-18 months.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead day-to-day operations across manufacturing, engineering, quality, and EHS, ensuring safety, productivity, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as site leader in the absence of the current Site Leader, with oversight across distribution, warehousing, maintenance, and facilities.
- Drive initiatives focused on continuous improvement (CI), operational excellence, and problem-solving to increase productivity and profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence beyond the manufacturing function to lead strategic initiatives and projects.
- Build and develop a strong team culture, fostering pride, accountability, and collaboration.
- Groom the current operations supervisor for future leadership positions within the site.
Growth Opportunity :
- This role is structured to grow into a full Site Leader position within 12-18 months.
- You'll lead a unique operation with significant growth potential, being part of the company’s only Animal-Origin-Free (AOF) site in the network, which services many critical customers.
- The site is experiencing growth due to its specialized capabilities in cell culture and media insights, setting it apart from other locations.
Candidate Profile :
Experience : Minimum 5-7 years in a management role within a complex manufacturing environment, preferably in a regulated industry (cGMP).
Experience leading large value streams and teams across functions such as supply chain, engineering, and quality.
- Leadership : Proven experience as a change agent with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels. Demonstrated capability in building collaborative relationships, driving results, and responding quickly in dynamic environments.
- Technical Skills : Strong analytical skills with a practical application of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
to drive efficiency, improve quality, and enhance performance.
- Strategic Thinker : Must be able to think ahead, plan for the long-term (2-4 years), and lead initiatives that drive operational excellence and growth.
- Regulatory Experience : Previous experience working in cGMP environments and with a mix of Make to Stock (MTS) and Make to Order (MTO) products is highly valued.
- Interpersonal Skills : Exceptional communication and team-building abilities, with a passion for fostering a positive workplace and engaging employees.
Work Environment :
- This position requires working in a controlled manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to fumes and chemicals such as raw materials and cleaning agents.
- Various levels of gowning are required for compliance with safety and quality standards.
