- K0108946 Position Title and Salary : Court Services Officer I, Grade 36, $28.78 hourly Location of Employment : 2 nd Judicial District, Jefferson County, Kansas Kansas Judicial Branch Benefits State Employment Center - Benefits (ks.gov) Job Duties : This employment requires the supervision of adults and juveniles placed on probation and / or bond supervision by the District Court. This includes the preparation of detailed adult and juvenile investigative reports for the District Court. An incumbent in the position maintains timely, accurate, and detailed chronological records of contacts on each offender, prepares reports related to the transfer of supervision, progress reports, and reports of violations. Supervision, counseling, and report writing skills will be used daily. This position works with offenders in identifying their needs, referring them to appropriate agencies of assistance, and working with the community in developing and using their resources.
Additionally, the incumbent will :
maintain professional relationships with other agencies and the public, complete administrative requirements, comply with requirements of state mandated as well as local policies and procedures, obtain samples for drug and alcohol testing, and perform any additional duties as required by the Chief CSO or the Court.This position will be based in Jefferson County but may involve occasional travel to other counties within the 2 nd Judicial District (Jackson, Pottawatomie, and Wabaunsee).Required Education and Experience :
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.Preferred major course work in social services such as psychology, counseling, sociology, criminology, criminal justice, corrections or a closely related field.Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications :
Experience using structured assessments and case management tools such as LS / CMI, YLS, WRNA, and EPICS.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with computers and relevant software.Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills.Knowledge of interviewing skills and individual counseling skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Note :
