$70,600.00 - $131,000.00

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous professional with extensive knowledge and experience in sales and use tax accounting.
This role will be responsible for all aspects of sales and use tax with an emphasis on GL reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support.
Location : Richardson, Texas
Key Responsibilities :
- Reconcile general ledger accounts related to sales and use tax and prepare journal entries for tax accruals, refunds, adjustments, or other required accounting transactions.
- Ability to review GL accounts to identify errors and out of statute entries.
- Experience with SOX controls and ability to prepare required documentation.
- Prepare / update cash forecasts for SUT related payments.
- Assist in sales and use tax audits, including the preparation of supporting documentation, research taxability issues and communication with tax authorities.
- Conduct regular tax research and analysis to stay up to date with changing tax laws and regulations and to identify potential impacts on the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper reporting and documentation of sales tax transactions.
- Oversee third party to ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of indirect tax returns for U.S. and Canada.
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities related to sales and use tax matters.
- Oversee the certificate management process, including obtaining and maintaining valid exemption certificates.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- CPA or CMI certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales and use tax.
- Proficiency in SAP, Vertex, and Excel, Access and Alteryx experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of state sales and use tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in Canadian GST / HST / QST is a plus.
- Excellent diligence and ability to perform accurately under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends or patterns in large datasets.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
