The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Technical Supervisor in the Fall Protection laboratory, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :

  • Leading a global team of product developers and product engineers that support the Harness, Lanyard, and Fall Protection for Tools portfolio of Fall Protection products through the execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and Change Management Projects (CMP).
  • Developing a strong understanding of customer needs, regulatory standards, and industry trends to align resources to the strategic direction of the Fall Protection business.
  • Defining product road maps to enable the next generation of Fall Protection solutions.
  • Overseeing the NPI and CMP pipeline to ensure rigorous prioritization, alignment with stakeholders, timely execution of projects, and robust project documentation.
  • Collaborating with global multi-functional teams and broader 3M personnel to identify and implement new technologies and solutions to maintain and grow the Fall Protection business.
  • Coaching team members to expand their capabilities and empower them to grow their professional careers.
  • Championing continuous improvement within product sustainment and product design, with a data driven approach.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Four (4) years of product development, product engineering, or application engineering in a private, public, government or military environment.

    • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

  • Prior supervisory experience, especially within a technical environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues, develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

    • Work location : This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Red Wing, MN. Travel : May include up to 10% domestic / international Relocation Assistance : Not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
