UI Artist (Contract) Job at Gamebreaking in Memphis

As a UI Artist contracting with Gamebreaking Studios, you will use your skills to create stellar UI assets as a contractor on our co-dev team!

Gamebreaking Studios is looking for someone with experience working on high quality UI assets for games who is searching for opportunities to flex their creativity. For this position we are looking for folks who are skilled but hungry to improve and love collaborating with other devs and creatives. In this role, you would be creating high quality UI art assets in collaboration with other artists and designers, while also helping to define the look and feel of the UI of the project.

Artists on small teams like ours are valued not only for their artistic prowess but also for their flexibility and enthusiasm to contribute to design and feedback. We are looking for someone who is at least mid-level of artistic skill and collaboration ability. You would be expected to create and deliver high quality UI assets using direction from the design team, create mockups using Figma, and have an understanding of the Unreal art pipeline to help with incorporating the art. You will be working closely with designers, other artists, engineers, and have opportunities to contribute ideas of your own!

Duration and Employment Status

This position is a contract position, but may have opportunities to convert into a permanent hire at its conclusion, based on performance and our studio’s needs at the time. The timeline of the contract is approximately 6-12 months. Whoever we hire will be expected to work 40 hour work weeks, without the expectation of overtime.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• A passion for games and art! There is no need to be a hardcore gamer, but we like to work with folks who have an interest in the medium we work in. If your passion doesn’t show through in your resume, please submit a cover letter.
• Strong technical artistic skills. The artist should be able to deliver on design mockups with accuracy and relative speed, while keeping the quality of the work high and to the standards of the industry.
• Familiarity with mockups and the ability to do so in the tool Figma
• Strong Collaboration ability. Having experience working with others in a constructive way is key. That means being able to give and receive feedback with empathy and confidence.
• Experience with the Unreal pipeline is a big plus!

We found early success providing work-for-hire to other studios and now build everything from end-to-end games to online game platforms to individual feature integrations.
