Within our multi-faceted organization, the Financial Services Division is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to fulfill an immediate vacancy at our corporate headquarters.
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for general corporate accounting functions including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations.
The Senior Corporate Accountant will assist with monthly closings, account analysis and assist the Accounting Manager and Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
This position reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager will work closely with the other accounting functions (e.g. Development Accounting, Operating Property Accounting and other family-managed entity accounting) to ensure The Beach Company general ledger is accurate and reported on a timely basis.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Corporate Accountant
Serve as the primary corporate accountant maintaining general ledgers for The Beach Company corporate and various related corporate entities on a GAAP basis.
E.g. Executive, Office Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Financial Services, Development, Property Management and Commercial Brokerage.
- Record monthly accruals and necessary JEs to accurately reflect The Beach Company's financial position .
- Distribute monthly corporate department financial statements.
- Responsible for corporate department budget support and entry.
- Review and import corporate credit card monthly transactions and ensuring overall compliance with credit card policies.
- Process Commercial Brokerage commissions, track agent advances on bi-weekly draws, and process payments to agents with monthly reconciliation of YTD earnings.
- Process bill backs to The Beach Company departments and related entities for insurance, credit card charges, intercompany bill backs, etc.
- Using MRI-Corporate AR maintain corporate AR reconciliation.
- Record and process AP and cash disbursements from The Beach Company Operating Account for items such as payroll, insurance, employee reimbursements and other corporate operating expenses.
- Post month end Landlord statements.
- Upload Workspeed charges into Corporate AR monthly.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and manager special projects from time to time.
Education and Experience Required of the Senior Corporate Accountant
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience.
- Experience as a Nexus Payable System user is desired.
- Knowledge of financial reporting.
- Background in public accounting or familiarity in the real estate industry is desired.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products and MRI are required.
- CPA is a plus
