50 / hour) . This full-time (40 hours per week) Monday Friday position will work 8 am 5 pm out of the Maplewood, MO Hub.
What you will do :
Empower seniors, retirees, and those who enjoy a slightly slower pace with building community involvement and achieving their personal goals
Teach skills that increase adults’ independence, self-esteem, and participation out in the community
- Assist one to four participants in planning a meaningful day of activities (e.g., local park, music therapy, arts and crafts) that matches interests and goals.
- Transport individuals to and from activities in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
- Assist participants with personal care, including restroom, meals, and dressing.
- Effectively motivate and serve as the primary trainer for support staff.
- Work closely with site leadership team to ensure effective communication across all team members.
- Communicate any pertinent information regarding staff’s performance both positive recognition and constructive feedback to the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator.
- Provide some administrative and facility support to the site as needed.

What we expect of you :
The flexible, respectful individual we see is an innovative and quick thinker with these qualifications :
- At least 21 years old and three years of driving experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience, such as knowledge of best practices for supporting people with developmental disabilities.
- At least 2 years of volunteer or work experience with intellectual and / or developmental disabilities college coursework in general or special education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related human services field preferred
- Reliable vehicle (4 seat belts and working heating / cooling) and valid driver’s license; valid auto insurance required at time of or within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to multitask and make decisions independently (e.g., emergency calls).
- Ability to complete CPR / FA, L1MA, and Mandt training provided by St. Louis Arc at no cost.
