Our client a wellestablished heavy civilconstruction company has an opening for a Sr. ProjectEstimator with industry experience in either civilmarine engineering or heavy construction in the Bristol CTarea.
The individual in this role willbe developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for bothprivate and public sector works projects in the $50 to $100 millionrange.
You will be managing the estimating process and working withthe Chief Estimator.
Responsibilities :
- Analyzingand compiling estimate data that impact the cost of labor materialsequipment requirements location and other factors to ensure ahighquality and timely estimate.
- Reviewingdrawings specifications and proposed project site conditions;record findings and solicit input from field operations to includein the final project estimate.
- Analyzingalternative solutions and construction methods to increase thecompetitiveness of the bid and review takeoff quantities to ensurethe accuracy of data used in estimates.
- Applymathematical calculations requiring advanced analytical processesto ensure logically estimated costs areaccurate.
- Present estimates and participate inbid reviews with senior management.
- Communicatewith owners subcontractors public and private entities to ensurecompetitiveness.
- Communicate estimate bidinformation to field operations at preconstruction meetings toensure an understanding of the scope of the job and critical meansand methods of construction.
- Participate inand / or lead Designbuild preconstruction services to ensurehighquality competitive estimates andschedules.
Requirements :
- Degreein civil engineering Construction Management BusinessAdministration or related work experience.
- Aminimum of 8 years Estimating experience with industryexperience.
- Proficiency in MS Office; AGTEKTakeoff and Primavera Schedulingsoftware.
- Experience using estimating softwareincluding HCSS HeavyBid or similarsoftware.
- Advanced knowledge of agency (U)DBErequirements.
- Comprehensive understanding ofcivil construction industry practices andstandards.
