- Proficiency in reprocessing laparoscopic instrumentation
- Ability to lift / carry 25 pounds
- Manual dexterity and ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Scarubs provided; separate footwear for hospital and outside use required
Job Description :
- Responsible for reprocessing laparoscopic instrumentation with SynergyTrak for instrument tracking.
- Handle 40-60 cases per day.
- Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package orthopedic & general surgical instruments and sterile supplies according to specifications and department protocols.
- Operate instrument washers, cart washers, autoclaves, dryers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures.
- Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.
- Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
- Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.
- Identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and promptly notify the supervisor or biomedical engineer.
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.
- Perform duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
