Job Summary :
In this role, the Controller will prepare financial statements, record journal entries, maintain account reconciliation schedules, supervise staff Accountants, and update / maintain policies and procedures.
Essential Functions of the Controller :
- Prepares and distributes monthly / quarterly / yearly financial statements.
- Develops annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Prepares auditing schedules and implements needed changes.
- Supervises and develops / mentors accounting staff.
- Supervises the monthly financial closing process by entering journal entries, reconciling various general ledger accounts, and providing account analysis
- Contributes to the decision-making process at all levels of the company.
- Maintains a strong internal control environment with an emphasis on standardizing business transactions and separation of duties.
Experience Preferred- Controller :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a distribution environment.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software and have advanced MS Excel skills.#BS-LI1
