This position is for 1.36 hours per day, 9 months per year.

Job Description : Responsible for teaching Dog Training / Small Animal courses and effectively leading discussions and planning instruction, activities, assignments, projects, and assessments covering the state standards for this course.
The Teacher will provide comprehensive instruction on the following concepts :
- Taxonomy, Binomial Nomenclature, and Dichotomous Keys
- Processes of Domestication
- Animal Anatomy and Physiology as it relates to nutrition, health, management
- Reproductive Processes for dogs, cats, and horses
- Different methods of animal training, learning styles, and behaviors
- Ethology and how it relates to animal behavior
- Animal welfare and rescue
- Different competitions for dogs or horses
- Roles animals play in the community
The Teacher will develop a curriculum that engages students in the exploration of dog training and small animal care, fostering their understanding of the basic concepts and application of animal training and management principles.
They will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes hands-on experience, critical thinking, and ethical considerations.
Attendance is essential in this position.
Physical Demands :
This role may involve light physical activities such as standing, walking, and handling small animals during training exercises.
Certifications (helpful but not required) :
Relevant certifications in dog training, animal behavior, or animal care
Job Qualifications :
- Valid teaching license or relevant endorsement in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in dog training, animal behavior, or a related field
- Proficiency in teaching and curriculum development
- Strong knowledge of state standards and their application to instruction
- Familiarity with animal anatomy, physiology, training techniques, and behavior modification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students
