Position Title : Proposal Engineer- Spare Parts

Job Brief :

The Proposal Engineer for Proposal makes decisions regarding the equipment required and prepares the necessary drawings, specification details, equipment weights, motor lists, etc.

in response to customer inquiries. The position is based in Cranberry Township, PA with travel to our Coraopolis, PA and Ashland, KY workshops.

Tasks and Day-to-Day in the role :

• Obtain details of customer inquiry from sales and / or customer personnel.
• Perform studies of existing steel plant equipment and develop modernization solutions.
• Research similar installations for reference.
• Select and list the most appropriate components and individual machines.
• Prepare line and layout drawings of proposed equipment and installation.
• Perform basic cost calculations.
• Make preliminary design of any innovations proposed to or by the customer and provide an arrangement drawing of the unit.
• Obtain estimates of the manufacturing, construction, and engineering costs associated with the proposals.
• Attend meetings with the Sales Representative and under own supervision as required to explain, revise, and complete the proposal for presentation to the customer.
• Domestic and international travel is required (25%)

Skills and Must Have's :

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 0-2 Years of Experience in Mechanical Design, Proposal Creation and / or Cost Estimation
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• A desire to work in a Steel Service Center environment
• Strong communication skills and a "Team Player" mindset
• Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Excel
