Summary :
Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy orOccupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapist’s Assistant hasthe responsibility and accountability for implementing care forpatients referred for Occupational Therapy according to the plan ofcare established by an occupational therapist.
OccupationalTherapist’s Assistant is responsible for adhering to all standardsof the Occupational Therapy Practice Act as they apply to providingtherapy care, supplies, equipment and education for their patientpopulation.
According to department’s Scope of Practice, thisposition requires providing services to the general patientpopulation, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of thephysical, perceptual, and cognitive needs of the individualsserved, and clear knowledge of activities of daily living.
Thisposition requires the full understanding and active participationin fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistentwith the Core Values and the Standards of Behavior. The associateshall support the CHRISTUS St.
Frances Cabrini’s strategic plan andthe goals and direction of their Performance Improvement Plan(PIP).
Requirements :
- Graduate of School ofOccupational Therapist Assistant program, minimum of Associate'sdegree.
- English required; bilingualpreferred.
- Excellent with written and verbalcommunication skills.
- Physical rehabilitationexperience preferred.
- Current Louisiana OTALicense required.
- Current BLS (Basic LifeSupport) certification required.
