GIS Specialist – QA / QC Mapping & Design Support

About the Role :
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Specialist to provide QA / QC support and play a key role in the maintenance, improvement, and development of our GIS system model and related applications. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with ArcMap / ArcFM, construction drawings, and utility mapping, and who want to contribute to projects that ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficiency in our systems.
Responsibilities :
- Provide QA / QC support for spatial realignment activities and verify mapping / drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Work in ArcMap and / or ArcFM to update and maintain electric facility mapping .
- Use GIS software to post as-built changes from construction projects and maintain / update landbase data (e.g., subdivisions, municipal annexations, roads).
- Coordinate the resolution of error reports (including TLM, OAS, and ADMS).
- Create, maintain, and prepare special maps, drawings, and reports for design, maintenance, and inspections.
- Support division and internal customers by delivering maps and drawings (e.g., feeder maps, street lighting, real estate exhibits, and QA / reliability inspections).
- Maintain and update records in the Transformer Load Management (TLM) system .
- Assist in developing and improving procedures, processes, and methods for system record maintenance.
- Contribute to special assignments such as change management, continuous improvement initiatives, software upgrades, and mapping / design tools (e.g., tagging and numbering programs).
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Help ensure efficient utilization of GIS and other mapping products by co-workers.
Must-Have Skills :
ArcMap (minimum 1 year of mapping / protractor experience).Educational background in GIS (at least credit hours completed).Nice-to-Have Skills :
Strong communication skills .Proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite .Ability to work effectively in a team environment .Qualifications :
Associate’s Degree in a technical field required (Computer-Aided Design, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred).Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Proficiency in GIS software, ArcMap / ArcFM, AutoCAD, or other CAD-related tools strongly preferred.1+ years of experience designing, analyzing, or interpreting construction drawings preferred.Experience in utility design, construction, surveying, or supervision , including knowledge of distribution lines, estimating, and utility standards / procedures, is a plus.Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a properly insured personal vehicle for company business.Highly organized, resourceful, and able to prioritize tasks effectively .Positive attitude with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration .Contract Details :
