Infrastructure Area Manager

Job Summary

In this role, you will manage the organization and direction of project construction activities and oversee total site management within your scope including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, and finance and accounting.

Your leadership will ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget, and clients are satisfied.

Major Responsibilities :

Leadership / Supervision

• Manages the organization and direction of construction and related activities of a single construction project, including actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.
• Acts as primary client contact for all project field activities.
• Oversees total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and craft resource personnel as applicable.
• Maintains client relationship and is the primary contact for client’s communication with the field activities and effective relation with other functional departments.
• Coordinates all project contractual activities. and participates in the development of contract, subcontract, or vendor scopes of work, budgets, contract formation, and negotiations

Planning

• Oversees jobsite expenditures for labor equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within the budget.
• Establishes project field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures as necessitated by conditions at a jobsite.
• Develops, implements, and administers a jobsite security plan and coordinates the activities with corporate security department.
• Prepare craft requisitions and forecasts, personnel and expenditure forecast.
• Develop and work plans and activities. Implements plans and procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget.

Safety & Quality

• Ensures development and execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
• Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
• Maintain, promote and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft professional organization.

Education and Experience Requirements :

Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills :

• Advanced knowledge and experience in field supervision of direct hire work.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices.
• Demonstrated planning and scheduling, procurement, and contracting experience.
• Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
• Extensive experience in civil construction of large projects. Preference to experience in multiple aspects of mass excavation, backfill, soil stabilization, piling, and marine works.
• Sound understanding of performance management processes such as Six Sigma.
• Advanced understanding of production management including scheduling.
• Advanced communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Advanced knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
