An accounts payable accountant plays a vital role in a company's financial operations by ensuring all bills are paid correctly and on time.
You'll be the guardian of the company's financial obligations to vendors and suppliers.

Duties :
- Process a high volume of invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify invoices with signed agreements, quotes and / or purchase orders, to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Code invoices according to company procedures and process them in SAP concur to obtain appropriate approval(s) for invoices before posting in accounting system.
- Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Process invoices and payments in the accounting system, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
- Process vendor payments through the bank through ACHs, Wires, and checks.
- Monitor the AP inbox. Work through and communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
- Create Purchases Orders for different departments, as required.
- Perform monthly journal entries and accruals (expense and AP accruals).
- Assist with month-end and year end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Maintain 1099 vendor files for accuracy and up to date W9s for tax reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounts payable functions.
Qualifications :
- Experience : 1-3 years Account Payable experience
- SAP Concur experience preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, etc)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Able to adapt to changing priorities
- Detail, deadline and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic
Compensation :
Salary $40,000 - $50,000 / yr (based on experience)
