Assistant Manager / Dock Attendant Job Summary
We are seeking a Dock Attendant / Assistant Store Manager to be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to marina guests and supporting the daily operations of the dock and store.
This role requires a combination of hands-on dock work and assistance in managing the retail store. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong multitasking abilities, and a passion for the marine environment.
Dock Operations Responsibilities
- Greet boaters and assist with vessel docking, mooring, and securing lines.
- Provide fuel dock services, including fueling vessels and ensuring safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized dock area, including dockside trash removal and daily upkeep of facilities.
- Assist with marina-related maintenance tasks and repairs as needed.
- Monitor and manage the flow of boat traffic in and around the marina.
- Enforce marina policies, safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
Assistant Store Manager Responsibilities :
- Support the Store Manager in the daily operations of the marina’s retail store, including inventory management, stocking, and merchandising.
- Assist customers in the selection of products, including boating supplies, snacks, beverages, and other goods.
- Process transactions, including cash, credit card, and account payments through the point-of-sale system.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Help with employee scheduling and ensure smooth day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Track sales and assist with financial reports as needed.
Assistant Manager / Dock Attendant Position Requirements
- High Diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with boating and marine terminology a plus
- Availability to work full-time, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent customer service and communications skills
- Basic math skill and familiarity with cash registers and credit card machines
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as fuel hoses and merchandise
