Structural Engineer III
Are you looking to further your career as a Structural Engineer in the Aerospace industry? PDS Tech is looking for an engineer with a structural analysis background to assist in generating the structural engineering analysis package to demonstrate compliance of tooling fixtures such as assembly & lifting jigs in an aerospace fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, research and provide input on product design, or operation of product involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials.
- Structural analysis methods (FEMAP / NATSRAN) of metallic and composite structures.
- Work with internal / external customers and colleagues to ensure that the design meets customer needs.
- Assist in the design of industrial tools, composite dies, drill fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for production or experimental use.
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s (STEM) Degree with 5 years of experience OR Master’s (STEM) Degree with 3 years of experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and / or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and / or production manufacturing operations.
- Professional Engineering License (preferably from California consideration will be given if candidate is within 1 year of completing certification)
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with industry standard aerospace to conceptualizing designs using 3D modeling tools including NX & CATIA
- Creating drawings for fabrication via CAD, with properly laid out views and dimensions that are in compliance with ASME Y14.1-5 standards.
- Direct Aerospace Tooling experience
- Experience with fabrication applying such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
- Direct experience with Tooling mechanics and analysis relative to stress
- Current / active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date / periodic review within the last 5 years
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
