A law firm located in New York City, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their bankruptcy law practice. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience and must be admitted to the New York State Bar.
Newly admitted attorneys may also be considered. The firm offers benefits including a 401(k) retirement plan, health and dental plan contributions, subsidized gym membership, and disability coverage.
Duties :
- Assist senior attorneys in bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and pleadings.
- Attend court hearings, conferences, and meetings with clients and creditors.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, and other parties involved in bankruptcy proceedings.
- Review financial documents and assist with bankruptcy planning and strategy.
- Handle administrative tasks related to bankruptcy cases, including filing documents with the court and managing case files.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Strong academic background and legal research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Education & Certifications :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
Skills :
- Knowledge of bankruptcy law and procedures.
- Ability to analyze complex financial documents.
- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
