The Inpatient Therapist is responsible for providing mental health services to assigned patients in an individual and / or group setting.

The Inpatient Therapist assesses, evaluates and provides services in a clear, concise, and timely manner. Accesses patients on intake, as needed.

Completes clinical documentation within established time frames using the electronic health medical record system. Attends weekly Treatment Team meetings and presents on each assigned patient.

Works with the interdisciplinary team to create, personalize and update all Treatment Plans and other necessary documentation while assuring that plans are consistent with hospital policy, state licensing regulations and Joint Commission accreditation requirements.

Serves as a liaison with other professionals and agencies involved with patients care.

Southern California Hospital at Culver City has been taking care of generations of Culver City and west LA residents. We are a full-service, acute care hospital with a 24 / 7 emergency department and nationally recognized patient safety.

Now at 420 beds, SCH-CC is a general acute care hospital that utilizes many of the latest medical treatments and technologies.

The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient acute care services, including an orthopedic center, cardiovascular services, acute rehabilitation, sub-acute care, psychiatric care and chemical dependency programs.

Additionally, SCH-CC operates a 24-hour emergency services center, which serves as a paramedic receiving station and is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and nurse specialists.

Incorporates a systems theory-based approach to the provision of individual and group therapy to aid in the stabilization of patients mental status.

Consults with the interdisciplinary team to determine and provide appropriate resources for patient post-hospitalization to ensure continuity of care.

Enables patients to understand, accept and follow IDT recommendations through individual and / or group therapy. Coordinates with community organizations such as AA, NA etc.

for referral, partnership, or collaboration purposes. Documents appropriately and on time for all patient on the units assigned.

Assist with the units development of the therapy program and lead group therapy sessions according to the schedule. Provide individual therapy to patients as needed.

Participates as a team member in conferences on behalf of patients with other health care personnel and other community agencies.

Intervenes appropriately in instances of abuse, assault, or neglect, or when adequate financial or social resources are not available. Ensures HIPAA compliance.

Empathizes with patient and patient support systems, expresses compassion and understanding for the situation and demonstrates care which is appropriate for the age, and cultural, religious, gender identity, or ethnic background.

Engages in caring behaviors, taking conscious ownership for work and takes deliberate / thoughtful actions regarding how to best carry out interactions with the patient, families, physicians, and co-workers.

Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects, reports, etc. required / assigned by Social Service Department.

Required Qualifications :

Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work or Marriage Family Therapy

De-escalation certification / current CPI upon hire

Computer Proficiency and Literacy

Knowledge of CMS, Medicare / Medi-Cal

Familiarity of Joint Commission, CMS, CDPH requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization

Ability to facilitate and lead interdisciplinary rounds

Preferred Qualifications :

Current California LMFT, LCSW, or PhD preferred

Current CPR

One year of post Masters clinical experience in a mental health setting with group therapy experience

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

Pay Rate : Min - $39.02 Max - $52.42
