Their pretrial, discovery, trial, and appellate work emphasizes collaboration and efficiency, often involving high-stakes litigation and arbitration.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Special Counsel with 7+ years of litigation experience to join a leading insurance and reinsurance disputes practice in New York or Washington, DC . This is a senior, off-track role with significant responsibility. Responsibilities include :

Drafting complex submissions and pleadings

Preparing witnesses for hearings and trials

Managing expert discovery

Leading arbitration and trial advocacy

Developing pretrial and trial practice skills in insurance / reinsurance disputes

The role offers the opportunity to step into a position with meaningful responsibility and direct client interaction. This position requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in line with firm guidelines.

Qualifications

JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school

Admitted (or eligible for admission) in New York or Washington, DC

7+ years of complex litigation experience

Background in insurance / reinsurance is preferred

Interest and experience in arbitration trial practice

Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Professionalism and confidence in working with demanding clients

Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in team settings

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range : $275,000 – $305,000

Bonus eligible
