American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a Level III trauma center in Missouri, requiring travel nursing background and multiple certifications.

Responsibilities

Hospital-based Emergency Department settingNight shift : 6 : 00pm to 6 : 30am, 13-week contractCares for patients of all ages, ranging from neonates to elderlyHandles a variety of emergency cases, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsisLevel III Trauma Center, ACC Chest Pain / STEMI, and Joint Commission Acute Ready Stroke Center designationPatient ratios typically 4-5 : 1, with ESI level 3 average acuityEMR system : EDIS MedhostUtilizes Omnicell medication dispensing; barcode medication administration not in usePossible blocked scheduling upon requestTravelers may be floated to other departments to task as needed, with average float being one shift per contractManage ED patients across all acuities, from ESI levels 1 to 5Provide care for stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis cases as part of main job dutiesRequired to perform all clinical RN skills relevant to the ED, including assisting with art line, central line, and chest tube placementExpected to handle call lights, patient transport, and board psychiatric patients pending placementNight and weekend shifts include making placement calls for psych patientsED RNs are responsible for completing EMTALA paperwork per hospital policyNight shift duties include mixing certain medication drips using vial to bag adaptersDress code : specified scrub requirementsTime off requests must be less than one week in length\n \n

Active MO or Compact RN license requiredMinimum of 1 year recent hospital Emergency Department RN experienceAt least 1 year of travel nursing experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications requiredAble to perform triage, PIV, port access / deaccess, foley and NG / OG tube placement, wound care, splint / OCL applicationProficient with US guided IV placement preferredDriver's license required for considerationNo certifications may expire within 30 days of assignment startNo employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past yearFormer perm CHS employees must be separated at least 2 years to be eligibleNo local travelers within a 50-mile radius accepted\n
