Job Description
The position of Forklift trainers are responsible for ensuring that forklifts are operated safely and efficiently in an organization.
They teach new hires how to operate forklifts, evaluate their certification, and recertify them when needed. They also help maintain health and safety standards in the workplace.
The following are key accountabilities and outcomes that a candidate must meet to follow the requirements needed for the position :
- Conduct initial and ongoing training sessions for forklift operators, ensuring all appropriate personnel are certified and competent in forklift operation.
- Develop and update training materials, including manuals, instructional videos, and practical assessment tools.
- Evaluate the performance of forklift operators through regular assessments and provide feedback for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation.
- Collaborate with the safety team to implement safety programs and protocols.
- Inspect forklifts regularly to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Address any operational issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the facility.
- Will be exposed to non-climate control areas (hot and cold areas)
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- Responsible for knowing and adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Comprehensive understanding of forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Ability to conduct engaging and effective training sessions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical condition, able to meet the demands of the job including lifting, standing, and walking
- 3-4 years of Forklift experience
- Bilingual
- Must have reliable transportation
- Basic computer skills
