The Child, Family, and Population Health Nursing (CFPHN) department within the University of Washington School of Nursing invites applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor.

  • The position is ideally Full-Time, but a Part-Time option (50% FTE or higher) is availableto accommodate clinical practice(applicants interested in working less than full time will not be eligible for visa or permanent residence)
  • 9-month appointment, non-tenure eligible
  • One-year appointment with the possibility of a three-year appointment.
  • Salary will depend on qualifications, background, and experience. The base salary range for this position will be $9,200 - $10,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.

S Department of Labor prevailing wage determination

Theanticipated start date is September 16, 2024

The position includes teaching in the undergraduate program with the possibility of teaching in the graduate program as well.

This position will :

  • Provide in person instruction
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds
  • Teachdidactic and clinical courses, advise and mentor students, which may include advising student capstone projects, attending connected teaching, and program-building with the faculty team
  • Mentor and prepare an undergraduate student body that reflects the increasingly diverse general and patient populations of the U.

S. with the passion and promise to eliminate health inequalities

  • Activelyengage in efforts to advance health equity through our curriculum, scholarship, service, and practice
  • Actively engage in scholarship related to areas of clinical interest and expertise.
  • Use electronic resources (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom) and an online learning management systems (Canvas) in their daily duties
  • Deliver excellence in both online and in-person education
  • Effectively teach about health inequities, anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion

Positive factors for consideration for this position include, but are not limited to :

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field (examples : DNP, PhD, EdD, ScD, PsyD)
  • Expertise in community health, public health, or caring for patients across the lifespan in outpatient care
  • Expertise working with underserved and diverse populations

Qualifications

Required Factors

  • Candidates must have a graduate degree in Nursing or related fields (or foreign equivalent)
  • Meet eligibility criteria for RN licensure in WA State
  • 3 or more years’ clinical experience
  • 1or more years’ experience teaching in undergraduate programs in nursing (clinical supervision, didactic)
