Job Details
The Speech Language Therapist will provide patient care under MD referral. Maintains required documentation and professional relationships with patients, families and staff.
Adheres to MMC / department policies and procedures and JCAHO / regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.
Responsibilities :
- Administers Speech Therapy treatments per MD referral and in accordance with NYS practice act
- Perform comprehensive evaluations
- Develop appropriate treatment plans with realistic, functional goals
- Observe patients' response to treatment physically and psychologically and adjust the treatment plan accordingly
- Communicate with clinical rehab staff, including MD, regarding results of testing performed and any precautions / diet modifications recommended
- Evaluate and treat patients on acute inpatient rehabilitation unit with Speech / Language and / or Swallowing dysfunction
- Evaluate patients referred in acute care hospital setting
- Objective testing (FEES / MBS) when indicated
Requirements :
- Masters in Speech Pathology and CCC NYS license required
- Current NYS license required
- BLS Required
- Two (2) years experience with adult population in acute care and / or acute and rehab setting required.
- Experience with FEESST preferred
