RN - Operating Room - Days - Part-time

Woman’s offers the unique opportunity of staffing two RNs per OR suite / case. This practice contributes to the delivery of the exceptional care our patients expect and are accustomed to receiving;

Requirements :

• Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required
• Current licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is required
• One year minimum experience as an RN is required and a minimum of two years of experience in an Operating Room as an RN is highly preferred
• Certification in the area preferred

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to :

• Performs assessment of the individual patient and procedure.
• Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance.
• Coordinates all aspects of nursing care with all disciplines of the surgical team to achieve defined patient outcomes.
• Maintains a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practice.
• Directs and assists in care and handling of state of the art supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and / or clinical priority.
• Provide patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice standards, ANA Standards & the LA Nurse Practice Act.
• Perform other duties assigned by Department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Hours

Days / Evenings : a combination of day and evening shifts Monday - Friday : am- : pm and : am- : pm

Weekend / Night Call Required (must live within minutes of the hospital)
