What Your Job Will Be Like :

We are seeking an intern for our Statistical Sciences and Statistics & Data Analytics departments to perform statistical analysis and methodology development for our highly dedicated and mission focused team.

We inform the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to help Sandia execute its mission. The selected applicant will engage in project participation, applied research and development, statistical consulting, instructing, and collaboration.

On any given day, you may be called on to :

Perform as part of a technical team conducting creative statistical research.

Collaborate on interdisciplinary teams to provide statistical expertise on data collection and analysis, methodology development, and applied statistical research.

Salary Range :

Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package.

Qualifications We Require :

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements :

Earned bachelor's degree

Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0

Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer

U.S. citizenship

Note : If you have not yet started your graduate program, please apply to an undergraduate intern position.

Experience acquiring, preparing, and analyzing real world data

Currently pursuing a master's or doctorate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related field

Familiarity with at least one statistical programming language (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python)

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE-Q clearance

Security Clearance :

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment / education verifications.
