Department Summary :

MITRE’s Secure Enterprise and Cloud Architectures Department (L523) provides subject matter expertise and consulting to Federal Government sponsors in enterprise-wide security architecture, with specific emphasis on cloud computing, zero trust architecture, 5G, and networking technologies.

The department advances the state of cyber security while leveraging the functionality and cost efficiencies of advanced architectures and technologies.

The department is part of MITRE Labs, MITRE’s foundry for innovation and disruptive solutions. MITRE Labs inspires breakthroughs in applied science and advanced technology to transform the future of U.

S. scientific and economic leadership. Our goal : Deliver disruptive innovation to support our mission of solving problems for a safer world.

Members of this department serve as trusted advisors to the top technical leadership in the organizations they support, including Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, and program management leadership, and assist in addressing their most critical security challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities :

Assist project teams and sponsors in performing :

• Design secure cloud architectures and services while working with leading cloud service providers and important missions.
• Analyze and develop enterprise architectures to provide or improve cyber security capabilities for various customers.
• Design and implement cloud security solutions for multi-cloud access and operations, workload monitoring and analytics, and threat hunting.
• Research, specify, and implement cloud-based cyber security tools, techniques, and procedures.
• Apply knowledge of network architectures, sensor technologies, and cyber threats to provide customers with the capabilities to protect, detect, and respond to cyber-attacks directed against customer systems .

Basic Qualifications :

Requires minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; relevant experience with a Ph.

D.; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience

• Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Policy, or related field
• Knowledge of cyber security principles and their application
• Knowledge of cloud, networking, and / or enterprise architectures
• Ability to work with others to solve challenging technical problems
• U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications :

• ISC2 certification
• Appropriate cloud security certifications
• Experience implementing, developing, or managing systems using one of the predominant cloud service providers
• Familiarity with zero trust principles
• Familiarity with security event and incident management tools (SIEM) and security data lakes
• Experience with large enterprise and US Government IT operations, service delivery, and defensive cyber operations (DCO)
