Senior Business Analyst – Medicaid IT Systems
Job Description
The Senior Business Analyst will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, formulating solutions that align with overall business strategies.
This role will involve business process reengineering, identifying technology applications that solve business problems, and supporting system enhancement projects to make the organization more effective.
This individual will be part of a dedicated team, assisting with the delivery of multiple ARPA-funded system enhancements for applications supporting Long-Term Care and related areas.
The Analyst will collaborate closely with the Product Owner and provide vendor oversight to ensure alignment with customer needs.
This role requires expertise in business process mapping, solution evaluation, and risk assessment, and experience with data analysis using tools like Excel and Tableau.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare solution options, identify risks, and conduct financial analyses (e.g., cost / benefit, ROI, buy / build assessments)
- Draft detailed documentation of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs
- Oversee vendor performance, ensuring adherence to project requirements and timelines
- Support the Director of Medicaid IT-Contracted Systems in project planning and execution
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience with Texas Medicaid systems
- Knowledge of software development processes, practices, and Agile methodologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau)
- Familiarity with industry-standard business process mapping and reengineering practices
