Position Summary

Manages financial aspects for a medium to small facility by approving and tracking expenses against budgets, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance, providing resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress, and adjusting performance accordingly. Develops contingency plans and demonstrates adaptability and supports continuous learning. Oversees and manages the relationship with the Transportation Command Center to respond to requests from the Emergency Operating Center in assigned regions by collaborating with distribution centers and transportation offices to identify alternative transportation sources and routes to utilize during emergencies, overseeing the continuous flow of freight into and around impacted areas, and determining the best use of resources to aid in emergency situations. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team-based work environment, establishing performance expectations, and conducting regular performance evaluations, providing recognition and rewards, coaching for success and improvement, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. Resolves escalated associate driver, customer, and supplier concerns by assessing and validating the facts, consulting with the appropriate teams, and identifying and overseeing solutions. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application, ensuring compliance, and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Leads and directs the medium to small facility by setting direction and ensuring it is carried out, communicating goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and ensuring opportunities for learning and growth are available, supporting Supply Chain and company policies and procedures, and overseeing the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, consulting with business partners, managers, coworkers, or other key stakeholders, soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and participating in and supporting community outreach events. Directs the continuous improvement of transportation efficiencies by driving, developing, and overseeing the strategic business plans for the Transportation business units, evaluating new systems and software, developing processes to support systems and software, developing and overseeing the implementation of strategic improvements for complex operations, while balancing inbound and outbound shipments with service, and ensuring performance goals and key business metrics are achieved. Supervises and directs associates and leaders in assigned area of responsibility by giving direction, communicating goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth, teaching, and supporting Supply Chain and company policies and procedures, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates facilitywide.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field and 3 years supervisory experience in a senior management role within an operation, distribution, supply chain, or retail environment OR 5 years supervisory experience in a senior management role in an operations, distribution, supply chain, or retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Developing and leveraging internal and external relationships, developing and managing budgets, managing profit and loss, developing manpower forecasts, monitoring regulatory compliance, and analyzing financial / operational data. International business experience, leading change initiatives in an operating environment, managing operations within an Operations Excellence environment (for example, TPS, TPM, Lean) with responsibility for developing processes, implementing programs, and ensuring deployment and sustainability, project management certification, senior-level managing multiple business types (for example, Grocery, Hardlines, Apparel) within a warehouse or supply chain network.
