Role Summary :

The Fuel Efficiency Program Director is a subject matter expert and thought leader responsible for implementing business transformational programs that contribute to the achievement of new annual goals and long-term strategic plans.

The Program Director will create and execute strategies by leveraging fuel efficiency levers through a more programmatic approach by partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure work output leads to enhanced efficiency and successful achievement of focused initiatives.

This position will report to the VP of Flight Operations.

Key Duties :

  • Develop and implement new fuel efficiency programs across the organization.
  • Partners with senior leaders to achieve a cross-company goal of 2% fuel consumption reduction through leadership, influencing behaviors through data and introducing new transformational tools.
  • Create and implement innovative strategies around fuel efficiency and practices to enable stakeholders’ optimal outcomes that drive fuel efficiency levels, including (but not limited to) load accuracy, fleet maintenance, reducing APU usage, flight path optimization, fuel planning, and increasing SET adherence.
  • Define and drive a dashboard and metrics around tracking fuel efficiency and practices to maximize key stakeholder potential and visibility, delivering visibility from leaders to the frontline team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities for fuel savings.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry groups, and suppliers.
  • Manage a cross-divisional team of fuel efficiency experts and analysts.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Perform as the sole subject matter expert and thought leader and be responsible for developing and authoring the airline’s comprehensive Fuel Policy by working closely with Standards, Fleet, FLOE, Training and Dispatch experts.
  • Interface with Alaska Airlines sustainability department to ensure alignment between fuel efficiency efforts and the 2040 sustainability plan.
  • Interface with Alaska Airlines fuel department to ensure end-to-end efficiency between the operation and supply and delivery channels.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills :

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training / experience in lieu of this degree.
  • 10 years experience in airline Flight Operations, similar experience managing or implementing fuel initiatives at an airline or major cost-saving programs.
  • Strong engineering and data-driven analytical approach to saving fuel and improving operational efficiency.
  • Strong demonstrated project management experience critical for success in this role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

Current and Qualified Alaska Airlines pilot on related airplane type (Airbus / Boeing).

Salary Range : $147,400 - $228,400 / year Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity) : $181,628.00 - $280,448.00 Salary Details :

The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment.

Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience / level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska / Horizon employees.

Alaska / Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note : We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
