Smith Brothers Farms , a leading producer and deliverer of milk to homes, schools, and business in the Puget Sound area for more than 100 years, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join their team in Kent, WA .

Minimum requirements :

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management & colleagues.
  • Must have computer / data entry skills and basic skills in Microsoft office products.
  • Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • This is a safety sensitive position. We do preemployment drug tests, including THC.

Preferred qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or Food Science is preferred, but not required .
  • FSCPA certification is preferred, but not required .

Physical Requirements :

  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand / sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate a computer.
  • Must be able to perform visual, olfactory and sensory tasks.

Essential duties / responsibilities :

  • Filler Sanitation Verification of fillers.
  • Sample setup, testing, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Document review.
  • Support the Sites Food Safety Systems.
  • Provide GMP guidance.
  • Ensure Smith Brothers Farms produces safe, quality, and legal food.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with all coworkers, manager, customers, and business partners.
  • Clock in correctly using the timeclock system daily.
  • Practice and support all Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Chemical Handling procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety is an essential function of every position. Wear appropriate safety gear always. Be aware of your surroundings. Report all near misses, on the job injuries and safety concerns.
  • Maintains current Good Manufacturing Practices and notifies supervisor of potential food safety issues.
  • Perform all other duties when requested or as assigned.
