Tradition with vision

In 2012, O'Fallon again celebrated its recognition by Money magazine as one of 100 Best Places to Live in the nation. Settled by a German immigrant in the mid-1800s who became the city's first retailer and first postmaster and first railroad agent, O'Fallon had a population of 600 by 1912.

By 1956, the population had grown to 1,357, many of the residents commuted to manufacturing jobs in St. Louis. In the mid-1990s, O'Fallon officially became a boomtown with aggressive city-wide infrastructure improvements and phenomenal residential, retail, and manufacturing growth along with a new emerging tourism industry.

The city's history includes sites related to early American and Native American history, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.
