Purpose :
Perform diversified maintenancefunctions dealing with pneumatic, electrical and mechanical equipment. Able todo facilities repairs.
Duties include obtaining the knowledge and skill toperform all Maintenance II functions and other duties as assigned. (Tool listattached) Perform all duties in a safe manner and observe company policies andprocedures.
Responsibilities : Tooling
Tooling
Learn toevaluate condition of, and change punches, dies, cavities, plugs. Repair aircylinders and learn to grind tooling.
Machine Repairand Troubleshooting
Must learn thecauses of machine malfunction and repair or replace parts, i.e., sprockets,chains, rails, channels, couplings, copper tubing, hoses and fittings.
Clean orreplace filters for blending system and drive system. Replace bearings forblending system. Replace oven reflectors, vacuum pumps, air and vacuum tanks;
clutches, grease lines, fuses, drive belts and pulleys, micro-switches. Repairand replace guards. Clean and flush chrome rolls.
Replace light bulbs. Weighfire extinguishers. Operate drill press and hand held tools and saws. Driveforklift. Operate electric hoist.
Chillers / MoldCooling Units
Learn totroubleshoot and clean heat exchangers, belts, coils, solenoid valves, hosesand plumbing. Repair or replace pumps, and repair or replace motors.
Water System
Perform testsfor hardness. Keep sensors clean. Clean and repair solenoid valves.
AirCompressors
Know when tochange filters, oil and hoses.
Hydraulics
Learn totroubleshoot hydraulic systems and change filters, oil and hoses.
Learn toanalyze and repair electronic systems in plant.
IndustrialElectrical
Be able topull wires. Check and change fuses. Rebuild starters. Replace plugs and outlets110V while increasing electrical knowledge.
BuildingMaintenance
Learn toreplace windows, door locks, patch roof and clean sewers. Minor carpentry andsome masonry, i.e., patching. Replace and clean ventilating filters and cleanroof-mounted ventilators. Move furniture.
Heating / Air Conditioning
Changefilters. Replace belts. Patch ductwork. Replace and adjust louvers and learn totroubleshoot systems.
Burning / Welding / Fabricating
Be able toweld and learn light brazing, and soldering.
Changeovers
Assist withall types of tooling changeovers. Assure that all gauges are working properly.
Training
LearnMaintenance II responsibilities.
Housekeeping
Maintain CleanWork Areas
Tool Crib
Basicknowledge of how to requisition parts. General knowledge of where various partsare stored.
Responsible for reporting food packaging safety problems to plantmanagement.
In the incumbents absence theseresponsibilities will be transferred to another Maintenance Mechanic.
Position Requirements :
Must be trained in and followcompany policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical controland food safety plans and policies.
Must be competent to carry out foodpackaging safety and quality responsibilities
