Pair Team cares for the highest-need Medicaid recipients through a community-led, virtual care model. We take responsibility for the whole person by addressing not just clinical needs, but also health-related social needs such as housing instability and food access.

We partner with local community-based organizations like shelters and safety net providers to coordinate care alongside our multidisciplinary care team to improve the wellbeing of underserved individuals and communities with Arc, our data driven community health platform.

About the Opportunity

As Principal Product Designer at Pair Team, you will play a critical role in building a technology-enabled service that improves healthcare access and outcomes for underserved communities.

You will set the bar for product experience quality and partner with engineering, product management, data science, and operations to improve product experience.

You will design for a range of end users, including Pair Team social workers, Pair Team clinicians, and case managers at non-profit organizations partnered with Pair Team.

This is a fully remote position.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product design process end-to-end for products and features with high complexity and scope, including launching new products 0 to 1
  • Collaborate with Pair Team’s current product designer in addition to product management, engineering, data science, and operations to conceptualize opportunities to improve our service
  • Develop artifacts to support the design process (eg, workflow diagrams, wireframes, user flows, UI design, and prototypes)
  • Own the direction and improvements of Pair Team’s design system, balancing consistency and velocity improvements vs implementation cost
  • Set the bar for product experience quality for the product team both for projects you drive and the product experience as a whole
  • Conduct customer research and leverage data insights while leading the research and discovery phase of the product design process

What You’ll Need

  • 8+ years of experience in product design building digital product experiences
  • 2+ years of experience with an early-stage startup in product design
  • Experience partnering with operations stakeholders to improve complex workflows
  • Expert proficiency in UX and product design tools (eg, Figma)
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional thought partners (eg, engineering, design, data science, and operations)
  • Ownership mindset and strong desire to work within a fast paced startup environment
  • Passion for helping individuals experiencing complex chronic needs such as homelessness, severe mental illness, and substance use disorder
  • Digital health experience is a plus but not required
  • Design system implementation is a plus but not required
  • Experience working with data in a regulated environment is a plus but not required (eg, HIPAA, PII, financial data)
