About the Role : Our client, a premier wholesaler and manufacturer of quality fabrics serving a diverse clientele, seeks a motivated Business Development Representative to join their team in New York City.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of their client base and play a pivotal role in their business success.

The Role

You will be responsible for :

  • Identifying opportunities for new business development through following up on leads and conducting research on target clients.
  • New business generation by meeting potential clients to understand needs and providing relevant solutions.
  • Managing the sales process to close new business opportunities.
  • Building strong relationships with the existing portfolio of clients.
  • Meeting and exceeding weekly and monthly activity and revenue targets.

Ideal Profile

Responsibilities :

  • Identify and prospect potential clients in target markets, including garment manufacturers, dress designers, and retailers.
  • Engage with a new customer base, including untapped large dress labels within and outside NYC, private label companies, retailers, and those smaller / mid-size customers who populate the growing online marketplace.
  • Develop initial relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target accounts.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand client needs, preferences, and pain points, and tailor sales pitches and presentations accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies and campaigns to achieve revenue targets.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to close, including negotiating terms and contracts with clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, pipeline, and client interactions in the CRM system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to existing clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote its products and services and build brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales collateral, promotional materials, and presentations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or related roles, preferably in the textile or design industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate value propositions and build rapport with clients.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to overcome objections and win new business.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is desirable.
